Meet Hansje, a graphic designer who explores typography flirting with the legibility and (ir)regularity creating textures and patterns out of her works.
Hansje van Halem (NL, 1978) works as an independent graphic designer since 2003. She has great love for typography, book design and all other types of printed matter. Besides creating letters, textures and patterns (digitally and manually) she loves to solve editorial problems with typography and materialisation.
“I find repetitive work soothing. It calms me down and allows me some time to think about other things while being productive at the same time. I like the tension between a systematic approach, legibility and (ir)regularity. I find it equally interesting to only draw the textures and end up with patterns.”
